SINGAPORE, 15 July 2026 – Pro Bono SG honoured outstanding volunteers, law firms, corporate partners and donors at the Pro Bono SG Awards 2026 on 21 July 2026, recognising their exceptional contributions to advancing access to justice for underserved communities in Singapore.

Graced by Guest of Honour Mr Edwin Tong SC, Minister for Law and Second Minister for Home Affairs, the annual awards ceremony celebrated the individuals and organisations whose generousity of time, expertise and resources has strengthened access to justice and fostered a culture of volunteerism in the legal sector.

A total of 150 awards were presented across various categories – Platinum, Gold, Silver, Crystal and Bronze Supporter Awards, Volunteer Awards and Special Recognition Awards. Human interest stories of volunteers and supporters are available in Annex B.

Beyond celebrating the contributions of its supporters, Pro Bono SG also announced several initiatives to strengthen access to justice and respond to evolving community needs:

  1. Renewed partnership with Tian De Temple – Pro Bono SG renewed its 10-year Memorandum of Understanding with Tian De Temple, reaffirming a longstanding partnership that has brought legal assistance closer to residents in the heartlands through the Community Law Centre @ Tian De Temple.
  1. Expanded Help Centre services – In the first two months following the expansion of its Help Centre services at the State Courts, Pro Bono SG assisted 1,071 applicants and conducted 295 lawyer consultations on-site, reflecting the continued demand for accessible legal support.
  1. New initiative for arts self-employed persons – In the second half of 2026, Pro Bono SG will collaborate with the National Arts Council’s Arts Resource Hub to launch an initiative supporting self-employed persons in the arts sector. The initiative will address critical gaps in legal knowledge, provide direct consultation services, and establish referral pathways to specialist legal representation, empowering self-employed persons to navigate legal challenges, protect their interests and build resilient careers in the arts.
  1. Advancing inclusive justice – Pro Bono SG is working with partners to operationalize the Inclusive Justice Law Centre in the second half of 2026. The Centre will improve access to legal assistance for persons with disabilities and their caregivers. The first touchpoint will be located at MINDS Community Hub at Geylang Serai.

Mr Dinesh Dhillon, Chairman of Pro Bono SG, shared, “The Pro Bono SG Awards celebrate the volunteers, law firms, partners and donors whose generosity and commitment have strengthened access to justice for communities across Singapore. As society’s needs continue to evolve, and as legal and social issues become increasingly intertwined, Pro Bono SG will continue working closely with our partners to develop community-based approaches that make legal support more accessible, inclusive and responsive. I am encouraged by the growing support across the legal profession and beyond, and look forward to building on this momentum together.”
