In stewarding the organisation to be Stronger as One CommUnity, under Mr Vijayendran’s leadership in recent years, Pro Bono SG was recognised with the People’s Association Community Spirit Excellence Award 2023, a testament to our unwavering commitment to legal literacy nationwide. In terms of community footprint, two community law centres at Tian De Temple @ Hougang and Realm of Tranquility @ Woodlands were birthed, alongside a legal assistance touchpoint for transnational families in partnership with South Central Community Family Service Centre. For corporate governance, Mr Vijayendran’s tenure saw the organisation conferred the Charity Transparency Award (3rd consecutive year in 2024) with a Special Commendation Award for Risk Management by the Charity Council. Mr Vijayendran also played an instrumental role in our corporatisation journey in 2017 where the organisation commenced operations as Law Society Pro Bono Services (LSPBS) and in 2022, LSPBS was renamed Pro Bono SG to reflect the commitment of all in Singapore to embrace our mission of Access to Justice for the unserved and underserved in our community.

Aligning to the national digital agenda, Mr Wong led the transformation efforts as Chairman of our IT Committee, overseeing the digitalisation journey of our cross-organisation Customer Relationship Management pillar. Co-chairing the HR Committee, Mr Wong guided the organisation on human resource and learning & development best practices to ensure talent attraction and retention including providing oversight on performance management matters and volunteer management policies. As part of the Media Focus Group, Mr Wong provided strategic counsel on profiling and public engagement, ensuring the effective portrayal of Pro Bono SG’s mission in action.

No stranger to Pro Bono SG serving as a Board member since 2017, Mr Dhillon pioneered the work on migrant worker legal assistance as Committee Co-Chairman, which saw the recent establishment of a partnership for legal services with Migrant Workers’ Centre @ Serangoon Road, slated to operationalise in 2025. Mr Dhillon chairs Just Jalan, our signature fundraising walkathon which raised more than $1.1 million for its inaugural edition in 2024. As past Treasurer from 2017 to 2021, Mr Dhillon spearheaded the organisation’s efforts and good practices in financial sustainability and internal controls and has been a long-standing volunteer for our Ad Hoc Pro Bono Scheme. Mr Dhillon was also previously Honorary Treasurer of The Law Society of Singapore.

Appointed to the Board in 2023, Ms Lim brings with her years of diverse experience and expertise having served on as well as advised (often on a pro bono basis) numerous non-profits on legal and regulatory compliance matters and this includes providing training regularly to charities and non-profits. Ms Lim volunteers her time on effective governance and management practices including for the “In Conversation with Commissioner of Charity and Charity Council” series as well as on topics such as anti-money laundering and counter terrorism financing in the National Volunteer and Philanthropy Centre Board Connect series. Ms Lim also served on The Law Society of Singapore as a Council Member.

On behalf of Pro Bono SG, we express our deepest appreciation to Mr Gregory Vijayendran, SC and Mr Kelvin Wong for their sterling service, and warmly welcome Mr Dinesh Dhillon and Ms Vivienne Lim Hui Bian, PBM as they take the organisation forward in realizing our vision of Justice For All.
