Our Story

LawWorks

LawWorks

LawWorks is an initiative launched by the National Trades Union Congress (NTUC) and Pro Bono SG in January 2013. Its primary objective is to educate union members and workers in Singapore about their legal rights. The initiative includes legal primer talks for targeted groups of workers, monthly legal clinics, and a compendium of pocket series booklets covering various aspects of labour law.

The initiative was officially launched by The Honourable The Chief Justice Sundaresh Menon, President of NTUC Ms Diana Chia, then President of the Law Society Lok Vi Ming SC, and Mr Patrick Tay, Director of LSD and PME Unit of NTUC.

Legal Primers

The LawWorks Legal Primers cover a range of topics such as workplace rights, personal data protection, and other areas of employment law. Legal primers aim to provide attendees with a basic understanding of the law and their rights, and to help them make informed decisions.

You may catch past webinars for free on our YouTube Channel. To stay updated on upcoming LawWorks Legal Primers, please write in to LawWorks@ntuc.org.sg.

LawWorks Pocket Series e-Booklets

The booklets contain relevant and succinct legal information, either on a particular subject pertaining to the workplace, or for a specific group of working people. These booklets contain checklists of key considerations for working people and point the way to avenues for further assistance and advice and can be downloaded.  There are 6 booklets in this series. 4 are currently being updated and we will share them here in due time!

LawWorks Legal Clinics

Legal clinics are organised monthly to provide our union members with legal advice on personal matters such as wills and matrimonial matters. (Exclude business/commercial and employment matters).
