In the spirit of civic participation and engagement during SG60, Pro Bono SG launched this campaign to activate our supporters, encouraging them to donate towards legal programmes that are currently not covered or fully covered by existing grants. To enable us provide access to justice to marginalised communities in Singapore, we encourage you to organise a sub-campaigns under our SG60 Giving.sg campaign or offline fundraisers of your own before sending the donation through our various channels.

Funds raised will support operations of Pro Bono SG’s programmes not fully covered by grants, such as legal awareness programmes, Community Legal Clinics and Non-profit Legal Services.

This fundraising project is to set up an inaugural programme (mirroring global movement) called “Pro Bono Weeks” to:

1. Galvanise support and action from the legal fraternity (Firms, Academia, Students, Corporate Counsels, Associations/Societies) to collectively amplify and celebrate pro bono work and with time, ingrain pro bono work as a way of culture;
2. Mobilise the legal fraternity to fundraise for Pro Bono SG from their network
   

The funds raised from the Pro Bono Weeks programme go to Pro Bono SG’s general fund and support all of the charities’ programmes and operations. Activities will consist of Fireside Chats, Roundtable Discussions, launch of new pro bono initiatives/resources for the industry/social sector. Learn more about Pro Bono Weeks here.

This campaign is to set up a supporter engagement programme called “Giving Circles” to:

1. Curate and offer a bespoke and high touch approach to relationship building for a select group of top individual and corporate supporters who have interest to pledge significant resources to Pro Bono SG;
2. Mobilise these supporters to be our third party advocates to fundraise for Pro Bono SG from their network
   

The funds raised from the Giving Circles programme go to Pro Bono SG’s general fund and support all of the charities’ programmes and operations. Activities will consist learning journeys to our unique community touchpoints and curated CSR / volunteering opportunities at Pro Bono SG.

At Pro Bono SG (PBSG), we believe that access to justice should be available to all, regardless of nationality, race, religion or financial ability. The purpose of this fundraising project is to support our legal assistance schemes to foreigners who are vulnerable and in need, such as migrant workers, through: 1. Criminal Legal Aid Scheme: Pro bono criminal defence for non-capital offences. 2. Ad Hoc Pro Bono Scheme: Pro bono legal representation for those in urgent and exceptional need, who do not qualify for any existing legal aid schemes. 3. Family Justice Support Scheme: Assistance for beneficiaries facing matrimonial matters, in particular transnational families 3. Legal Clinics and Outreach, including legal awareness publications and talks/webinars. The objectives of this fundraising project are to (1) raise awareness of the legal issues this group of beneficiaries faces; and (2) raise funds for the abovementioned programmes. Support for this project is crucial as it is more challenging to obtain government funding for programmes benefitting foreigners.

The purpose of this fundraising project is to raise funds for our community lawyering initiative, which provides integrated legal care to the most socially excluded through strong partnerships with the social sector, and the establishment of Community Law Centres and other programmes in the heartlands. The funds will be used to sustain the operating and programme costs of our Community Law Centre @ Tian De Temple and Community Law Centre @ Realm of Tranquility and any upcoming centres and programmes. Our vision is to have 1 Community Law Centre operating in each CDC District in Singapore and specialised programmes for various communities operating out of other community partners such as Family Service Centres.
